WINGS Foundation works to break the cycle and heal the wounds of childhood sexual abuse by providing education, support services, and advocacy to adults throughout Colorado.

WINGS Definition of Sexual Abuse and Incest

WINGS adopts broad definitions of sexual abuse and incest. Sexual abuse occurs when a person's physical or emotional self is violated through sexual actions such as pornographic picture taking, indecent exposure, lewd comments, sexual innuendos, fondling or intercourse. Incest describes sexual abuse perpetrated by a person in a position of trust, power and/or authority, regardless of age or whether s/he is a family member.
