Wings Approach To Healing
Wings is building systems of support for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse that combine in-depth health expertise with the healing power of community.
Space to Heal ™
Trauma from childhood sexual abuse is an adult health issue that’s too often dismissed and denied. At Wings, we believe no adult survivor should ever struggle alone. That’s why we center the needs of adult survivors and create space to heal in a world that has not made it easy to do so.
Healing Requires in-depth Health Expertise
Working across sectors to address the multiple impacts of childhood sexual abuse trauma, we focus on the value of healing to adult survivors’ overall health and well-being and that of our broader communities.
Healing happens in community.
Survivors are not alone on their healing journeys. We use a collaborative model by referring to qualified therapists, providing peer support groups, and offering resources for loved ones and allies.
Healing is a journey
Each person’s journey takes a unique path. While healing is not linear and will include moments of hope alongside challenging experiences, it is possible to transcend childhood sexual abuse trauma and lead a full, healthy life. Below are key phases of healing that adult survivors might expect to go through. Wherever you are in your healing journey, trust yourself. You’re right where you need to be. Support is available to help you go further.
